Daewoo Cargo Terminal Collection Guide
A simple checklist for collecting a parcel at a Daewoo Express bus terminal: what to bring, paying anything owed and what to check before you leave.
How Terminal Collection Works
Daewoo Smart Cargo does not deliver to home or business addresses. When the bus reaches the destination terminal, staff unload the parcel and keep it in the terminal cargo storeroom. An arrival notice is then sent to the receiver’s phone.
To get the parcel, the receiver goes to the cargo counter at that terminal. Get your papers ready before you go, so the handover is quick.
What to Bring to Collect Your Parcel
When you go to the terminal cargo counter, have these ready:
1. Your Original CNIC
Staff check that your name matches the receiver on the booking. Bring your original CNIC. A photocopy or phone photo may not be accepted.
2. Booking Number and Arrival Notice
Give your booking number, or show the arrival notice on your phone. It helps staff find your parcel in the storeroom.
3. Paying Anything Owed
If any charge is still due, such as storage charges after the 5 free days, you pay it at the counter before the parcel is handed over. Ask the counter which payment methods it accepts.
Can Someone Else Collect for You?
If you cannot go to the terminal yourself, someone else may be able to collect for you. We could not confirm Daewoo’s exact rules, but they may ask for:
- Their own ID: The person collecting should bring their own original CNIC.
- Receiver's CNIC copy: A clear copy of the receiver’s CNIC.
- Signed letter: A signed letter from the receiver, with the booking number and the name and CNIC number of the person collecting.
- Phone check: Staff may also call the receiver’s phone number to check before they hand over the parcel.
Rules can differ between terminals, so call the Daewoo helpline on 042-111-007-009 before someone else goes to collect your parcel.
Check Your Parcel Before You Leave the Counter
When staff bring your parcel, check the outside carefully before you sign for it:
- Check the seals and tape: Make sure the tape has not been cut or opened on the way.
- Look for crushing or water damage: Check the box for dents, holes or signs that it got wet.
- Report damage straight away: If there is serious damage, show it to the counter staff and the duty manager before you sign.
Counter Hours and Finding the Cargo Counter
Main Daewoo terminal cargo counters, such as Lahore Kalma Chowk, Karachi Sohrab Goth and Rawalpindi Peshawar Road, are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Smaller city sub-agencies usually close by 6:00 PM and are shut on Sundays.
Storage is free for 5 days after the arrival notice. After that, Daewoo charges 10% of the freight charge for each extra day, so collect as soon as you can. At Eid, terminals are busy, so allow extra time.
At the bus station, look for signs to the Cargo & Luggage Counter. Ask terminal staff if you cannot find it.
